The International Centre for the Study of East Asian Development in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture has a library with a significant collection in English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other Asian languages. They have over 30,000 books and periodicals. Roughly half are in English. The main focus is on economic, political and social issues related to East Asia. The library is open to the public.
